      Course Overview

      Creating an inclusive workplace benefits both employees and organisations. This interactive half-day course provides an introduction to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI), exploring the legal framework that supports fair treatment and equal opportunities at work. Participants will develop an understanding of the Equality Act 2010, recognise the impact of bias and prejudice, and learn how their behaviours can contribute to a positive and respectful working environment.

    • By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

      • Describe the differences between equality, diversity and inclusion.
      • Understand the key principles of the Equality Act 2010 and its relevance to the workplace.
      • Recognise the legal requirements relating to reasonable adjustments.
      • Identify behaviours that may be perceived as offensive, inappropriate or discriminatory.
      • Develop an awareness of unconscious bias, prejudice and their impact on workplace interactions.
      • Understand the importance of treating colleagues fairly and with respect.
      • Recognise the role of organisational policies in preventing bullying and harassment.
      • Contribute positively to a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture.

    • There are no formal prerequisites for this course. It is suitable for employees at all levels and can be used as part of an organisation’s equality, diversity and inclusion training programme.
