Participants will gain hands-on experience in managing Linux systems, learning about the Linux boot process, kernel modules, user management, and system maintenance. This course prepares students for the CompTIA Linux+ certification exam.

  • Module 1: Hardware and System Configuration

    • Explain the Linux boot process and configure kernel modules.
    • Manage storage, network parameters, and localisation in Linux.
    • Compare cloud and virtualisation technologies.

    Module 2: Systems Operation and Maintenance

    • Conduct software installations, configurations, and updates.
    • Manage users, groups, services, and file operations.
    • Automate tasks and schedule jobs.

    Module 3: Security

    • Apply user permissions, access methods, and implement Linux firewalls.
    • Backup, restore, and compress files.

  • LINUX+: Prerequisites

    • 9 to 12 months of experience configuring, monitoring, and supporting servers running Linux.
